Men of Essex – 2018 Most Outstanding Athlete Awards

Congratulations to both Anthony Clarizio and Mia Faieta who were selected by the Men of Essex as 2018 Most Outstanding Athletes in their respective sports; Wrestling and Softball.  The Men of Essex held their 60th Men of Essex Awards Celebration where they honor both scholar athletes and athletes of the year throughout Essex County.  Anthony

Anthony Clarizio earns 5th place at NJSIAA State Finals; Joe McCarthy goes 2-2

Congratulations to Anthony Clarizio who reached the state podium and finished in 5th place (132lbs) at the 2018 NJSIAA State Wrestling Championships.  Anthony became only the second wrestler in the history of Cedar Grove to reach the podium at the NJ State Championships.  Anthony Clarizio is now the all-time winningest wrestler in Cedar Grove High School

Anthony Clarizio wins 4th Essex County Tournament Title

Congratulations to Anthony Clarizio for becoming the 10th wrestler ever to win four career titles at the Essex County Wrestling Tournament.  Anthony was named the 2018 Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Essex County Tournament after breezing through the 132lb bracket and beating Charlie Cunningham of Seton Hall Prep 4-2 in the championship bout.  Clarizio is now

Joe McCarthy wins 100th; 4 win Gary Vittorio Holiday Tournament

Congratulations to Joe McCarthy who recorded his 100th career wrestling win on Saturday in the championship match of the Gary Vittorio Holiday Wrestling Tournament at Parsipanny High School.  Joe McCarthy’s 100th win was also to clinch the championship of the tournament at 182lbs. Cedar Grove also had three other wrestlers win championships at the tournament.
