Sean Conley’s 3-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter lifted Hanover Park to a 35-30 win over Cedar Grove in East Hanover.
Cedar Grove led, 22-21 going into the fourth quarter, before Michael Radomski hauled in a 14-yard TD pass from Tyler Scaff to give Hanover Park a 29-22 lead. Cedar Grove scored on a TD run by Joe McCarthy and a 2-point conversion pass by Max DeViito from Sammy Ventola to take a 30-29 lead, before Conley scored to give Hanover Park the win.
Mike Lever led Cedar Grove with 71 rushing yards, 22 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns. Sammy Ventola threw for 166 yards and rushed for 77 yards, and Joe McCarthy scored twice for Cedar Grove. Freshman Dillon Jennings led Cedar Grove’s defense with 11 tackles and 2 sacks while Jake Ferreara and Joe McCarthy had 9 tackles each.
Cedar Grove will travel to Hoboken (1-0) on September 15th for a 7pm kick off.
